A solemn atmosphere pervades the site of another barn fire. Melissa Keefer, center, and friends watch the fire smolder on her farm. Three other similar fires were battled on Monday and Tuesday of this week in neighboring townships.

Firefighters were called to an early morning barn fire at 7623 Valley View Lane in Antrim Township.

A 36x42 cow shed was destroyed on the Barron and Melissa Keefer farm.

No animals were inside, but 15-18 round and square hay bales were lost, said Pennsylvania State Police Deputy Fire Marshall Frank Hershey.

Two tractors were moved out in time.

The fire was noticed at about 5 a.m.

Hershey said the cause is undetermined. He is also investigating three barn fires  in the previous two days. They were Monday on Geibs Road at 2:34 a.m., Tuesday at Ryder’s Welding and Backhoe on Warm Spring Road at 4:59 a.m. and Tuesday on Quarry Road at 11 a.m.
