Two suffer minor injuries after motor home flips on I-81 in Greencastle
Pennsylvania State Police reported a New York man fell asleep while driving a motor home on Interstate 81 in Antrim Township Wednesday afternoon, causing it to roll over and impact travel in the area for hours.
Police said John Alan Devore, 80, of Pennellville, N.Y., was driving a 37 foot Tiffin mobile home south on the interstate and around mile marker 2 he fell asleep causing the vehicle to travel slightly off the roadway into the downhill grassy median. The recreational vehicle rolled onto its roof, according to police.
Devore and a passenger, identified only as Donna Dorthy Devore, were taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md. for treatment of minor injuries.
Police said the motor home was towing a silver sports utility vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police added that there was one witness to the crash that happened around 2:30 p.m.
The south lanes were closed after the accident and traffic was rerouted.
