Greencastle-Antrim School Board will appoint member Thursday

The Greencastle-Antrim School Board will interview five people who submitted letters of interest for a vacant seat. The spot opened when Todd Kirkwood, who won a seat in the Nov. 5 general election, resigned due to his status as a federal employee and restrictions on serving under the Hatch Act of 1939.

The board by law has 30 days to fill the seat, and accepted letters through Dec. 11. The interviews will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19 in the Greencastle-Antrim Middle School library. They will be open to the public, as will the deliberations prior to the appointment, said board president Brian Hissong.

The parties seeking the position are Todd Kirkwood, Mike Shindle, Jon Baker, Edward Jackson and Jim Winslow.
