WHAT'S GOING ON: With the road work on U.S. 11 South in Greencastle

Two weeks of heavy duty paving along U. S. 11 South in Greencastle are wrapping up. PennDOT crews are now putting the finishing touches on the state highway, with the completion date officially July 20.
The $1,288,903.15 contract with New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company covered improvements from West Franklin Street to Commerce Avenue, with the exception of a stretch of road at the underpass. Motorists experienced delays in travel during the June workdays, but traffic is now flowing smoothly. Subsidiary Valley Quarries trucks have been visible during the construction.
Alan High, Franklin County construction inspection manager for PennDOT, said there were no major issues during the project, and the remaining tasks include painting and signs.
