OBITUARY: Lena Charleen Gill

Lena Charleen Gill born Jan. 23, 1955, our dearly loved daughter, sister and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 27, 2012 after faithfully serving Him through ALS for the past year.

Charleen is the daughter of the late Herman H. Gill and Mary Calimer Gill. She is the sister to Cynthia Lorshbaugh of Hagerstown, Md., Denise Hutchison of Greencastle and Jessica Colleen Rohrer of Greencastle. Charleen was proceeded to glory by her sister, Rosemary Gill Stottlemyer.

Charleen loved her family and would want to mention her beloved nieces and nephews: Jeff Stottlemyer, York; Stephanie Lowery, Williamsport, Md.; Robert D. Lorshbaugh of Hagerstown; Aaron G. Hutchison of Greencastle; Jessica Charleen Paris of Greencastle; Dylan Rohrer of Greencastle;  and Madyson Rohrer of Greencastle; and precious great-nephews.

Charleen was a member of the graduating class of 1973, South Hagerstown High School. She was a faithful employee for Sears for over 37 years and managed the shoe department for many years.

Char served the Lord teaching Sunday School at Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church for over 25 years and continuing to serve the Lord at Community Grace Church in Greencastle. She received the CE National, Inc. award for FAITHFUL SERVICE to the Kingdom of God for over 30 years.

Charleen loved the people and has donated her body to research with John's Hopkins University Hospital research for the sake of others who have neurofibromatosis and ALS.

The Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home of Waynesboro, is taking care of her wishes.

Charleen's Life Celebration will be held at Community Grace Church, 17 N. Washington St., Greencastle, at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16 with a dinner reception following.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, should be given to, Community Grace Church, P.O. Box 604, Greencastle, PA 17225, to continue the work she loved of the Gospel for the Kingdom.
