OBITUARY: Frank Edward Johnston

Frank E. Johnston

Frank Edward Johnston, 99, formerly of Greencastle, and more recently of a resident of Penn Hall at Menno Haven, Chambersburg, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 1, 2012, at the nursing center.   

Born March 31, 1913 he was a son of the late Frank M. and Emma Wiles Johnston.

He was a World War II veteran.

Mr. Johnston worked at Teledyne-Landis Machine, Waynesboro, for 34 years; and for many years as an upholsterer, working from his Greencastle residence and cottage at Penn Hall.

He was a member of Four Square Full Gospel Church, Greencastle.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by several siblings and half siblings.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home,  45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4 from the funeral home with  Rev. Norman H. Gloeckler and Chaplain Robert E. Keener officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, Inc., 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA  17202.
