Franklin County Commissioners announced Tuesday that contract negotiations between Franklin County and AFSCME for Correctional Officers at the Franklin County Jail were settled Friday, April 27, by an impartial arbitrator. The resulting contract will be for the years 2012-2015.

Both sides were able to benefit from the negotiations, according to a news release from the county. David Keller, Chairman of the Franklin County Board of Commissioners said, “The county feels that this is a fair contract for our correctional officers and Franklin County. As always, we appreciate the hard work of our correctional officers and are happy that the arbitration team was able to come to a resolution so quickly.”

The contract calls for a 3 percent wage increase per year.
