Greencastle police caution residents

Greencastle police are cautioning residents about general neighborhood safety with the onset of warming weather.

According to a news release from the Greencastle Police Department, residents are being asked to take appropriate precautions with their property.

Police warn residents to keep their houses, vehicles and outbuildings secure at all times and to report suspicious activity.

Police report that they were called to the 300 block of Tyrone Street at 1:30 a.m. March 18 about a person seen running through a backyard. The officer found two unlocked doors in a vacant house.

The borough canine unit was called in to search the property. No one was found inside.
