Saturday great day to be in Shady Grove
Pancake breakfast
SHADY GROVE — The Shady Grove Ruritan will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and Kline's sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24.
In addition to traditional pancakes and sausage, the menu will also include blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. Juice, coffee, and tea are included in the breakfast.
Admission to the breakfast is $6 for teens and adults and $3 for children, ages six to 12. Children age 5 and younger eat free. Carry-out breakfasts will also be available.
The pancake breakfast is a Shady Grove Ruritan fundraiser which supports community programs including college scholarships, scouting, youth sports and the Shady Grove playground. Last summer, the Shady Grove Ruritan built a sand volleyball court and improved the playground at the community center.
The Shady Grove Community Center is located on Route 16, two miles east of Greencastle's I-81, exit 5.
Relay for Life benefit
SHADY GROVE — The Greencastle Relay for Life Team Hurley Sold on a Cure will hold a benefit fund raiser consisting of a concert, An Evening with David King, Songs of Elvis 50s, 60s and Gospel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at The Legacy Center Hurley Auctions, 2800 Buchanan Trail East, Greencastle. The team is also hosting a benefit dinner of roast beef on bread, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, gravy and cake prior to the concert.
Doors and kitchen will open at 4 p.m. A silent auction table will be available from 5 to 6 p.m. with an oral auction at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 per person. Dinner tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door.
