OBITUARY: Keith Lee Monninger

Keith Lee Monninger, 37, of 1286 Preston Lane, Greencastle, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 as the result of a motorcycle accident.
Born July 12, 1974 in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Gary Lee Monninger of Dry Run and Margaret (Murphy) Jackson, Waynesboro.
Mr. Monninger graduated with the 1993 class of Greencastle-Antrim High School.
He and his wife, Maria Ann (Young) Monninger, were married May 31, 1994 in Hagerstown. They lived at their current residence for the last 17 years.
Mr. Monninger was self employed as the co-owner of Custom Cleaning Service, Greencastle, since 1998. Prior to owning the cleaning company he worked for Blue Seal Foods as a truck driver and Chef's Kitchen as a cook.
He was a member of Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post 373, Greencastle, where he also participated in American Legion Riders. Mr. Monninger was also a member of Frontier Country Gun Club, Chambersburg.
He coached his daughters' softball teams and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed traveling, woodworking, weight training and cooking.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his two daughters, Jessica and Rachel; his son, Andrew; paternal grandmother, Pauline (Rowe) Monninger of Waynesboro and maternal grandfather, Kenneth Paul Murphy of Alma, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bonnell (Taylor) Murphy; and paternal grandfather, Jacob E. Monninger Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 12, in Shank's Church of the Brethren, Shank's Church Road, Greencastle, with Rev. Jonathan Laye officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his childrens’ education funds, in care of his wife Maria.
