OBITUARY: Violet Marie Bushey Davison

Violet Marie Bushey Davison, 101, of Chambersburg, died late Thursday night, Feb. 23, at Magnolias of Chambersburg.  She was the husband of the late Joseph Frederick Davison Jr., who preceded her in death March 28, 1977.

Born July 7, 1910, in York Springs, she was a daughter of the late George Nicholas and Emma Elizabeth Leer Bushey.

Mrs. Davison graduated Shippensburg Teachers College and taught just out of college in a two-room schoolhouse in Idaville.  Later she helped on the family farm and enjoyed gardening and caring for the animals.  Additionally, as the selfless person she was, she was the caregiver to many family members.

She was a member of Greencastle Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are three children, Sandra Sue Davison Lum of Chambersburg, Barbara Ann Davison Clever and husband Brad of Chambersburg and J. Frederick Davison III, DMA, and wife Dottie of Pasadena, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; former son-in-law, Donn P. Lum of Chambersburg; and a niece and a nephew.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davison was preceded in death by four siblings.

A memorial service was held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at her church, Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St. with her pastor, Rev. Taylor R. Camerer, officiating.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Care and Hospice, Inc., 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
