Bank site for book drive collection in Greencastle

A Greencastle dropoff point has been set for book donations for the Franklin County Friends of Legal Services 28th annual Book Sale.

Books may be donated at the Susquehanna Bank office at 40 Center Square during business hours. Donations will be accepted through April 16.

Other donation sites in Franklin, Cumberland and Adams countys are listed at and include Susquehannan Bank in Quincy and Dru's Books & Things, Wayne Heights Mall, Waynesboro.

The group welcomes books of all types, old and new, hardbound and paperback, plus magazines dated before 1950, sheet music, maps, artwork, CDs, DVDs, videotapes and books on tape.  

Rare books and collector's items are welcome and are priced and displayed separately at the sale.  The group will provide receipts for tax purposes on request.  To make special arrangements to donate a large quantity of books, call Franklin County Legal Services at (717) 262-2326 or email

The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13, in Laird Hall on the Wilson College campus in Chambersburg.

Proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations that provide legal services to low-income residents and victims of domestic violence.
