Greencastle-Antrim athletic teams are in the thick of postseason action this week.

Both the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams have qualified for districts. The wrestling postseason begins with sectional competition for all athletes.

The Blue Devil boys’ squad (20-2) will be first to hit the hardwood in the venue of the Mid-Penn Conference Tournament. As the champion of the Colonial Division, G-A took on Capital Division titlist Hershey (20-0) in the semifinals of the boys’ event Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Cumberland Valley High School. It will be a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. A win puts the Devils in the Thursday finals.

Admission prices for the conference event are $5 for adults and $3 for students (K-12).  No passes will be accepted.

By virtue of their fifth-seed position in the District 3-AAA power ratings, the Blue Devils will host a first-round game of the playoffs on Tuesday, Feb. 21. G-A drew 12th-seeded West Perry (16-6)  for the first round. The game will tip off in the G-A gym at 7 p.m.

Admission prices will again be $5 for adults and $3 for students (K-12), with no passes will be accepted.

The G-A girls’ team (12-9) will compete in a play-in game in hopes of advancing onto the first round District 3-AAA bracket. The Blue Devil ended up 18th on the final power ratings and will face 15th seed Berks Catholic (13-8) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Reading school.

Once again admission prices will be $5 for adults and $3 for students (K-12) with no passes accepted. Berks Catholic is located at 955 E. Wyomissing Boulevard, Reading.

The winner will face second-seeded Trinity in the first round Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The Blue Devil wrestlers will seek a berth into the 3-AAA District Tournament by way of sectional competition Saturday, Feb. 18 in Mechanicsburg. Wrestlers will qualify individually for a spot in the Feb. 24 and 25 district event at Hersheypark Arena.
