OBITUARY: Helen Leona Keller Wingert

Mrs. Helen Leona Keller Wingert, 83, of Greencastle, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 4, 2012, at Chambersburg Hospital.

She was the wife of the late George Samuel Wingert Jr., who preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1984.

Born Jan. 15, 1929, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Ernest E. “Pete” and Martha Leona Myers Keller.

She graduated Greencastle High School in 1946.

Mrs. Wingert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319, both of Greencastle.

Surviving are her children, Diane M. Wesley of Greencastle, Larry Wingert of Marion and Linda Seville and husband Thomas of Mercersburg; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Glenda “Punch” Wingert Cooper of Greencastle.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald L. Wingert on Dec. 2, 1999; and her older brother, who died during infancy.

Services and interment are private and at the convenience of the family.

The omission of flowers is requested.
