OBITUARY: Colin S. Beegle

Colin S. Beegle, age 79, of Greencastle, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at 3:08 p.m. in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 3, 1932 in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Kenneth G. and Wilma (Smith) Beegle.

He and his wife, Esther Naomi (Glick) Beegle, were married Nov. 3, 1956 in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle. She died May 25, 2002.

He was employed at Landis Tool Company in Waynesboro for over 33 years.

Mr. Beegle graduated with the Greencastle High School Class of 1949.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Beegle was a member of Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg.

He was a life member of the Greencastle VFW and the Greencastle Sportsman's Association.

Mr. Beegle was an Antrim Township Supervisor from 1976 to 1980.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Surviving family are four daughters, Tina M. (wife of A. Wayne) Young of Greencastle, Dena L. (wife of Gerald) Morris of Corry, Selena K. (wife of Darrell) Lehman of Chambersburg and Tessa S. (wife of Robert) Martin of Mercersburg; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church, 24 East Kauffman Road, Chambersburg, with Rev. Ky R. Searcy officiating.

Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Honor Guard will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2 at the church and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.
