Turkey Trot in Greencastle draws more than 500 entrants

It paid to be 21 if you were running the 2011 Turkey Trot at the Greencastle-Antrim High School on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24. At least it paid in trophies and turkeys.

Jared Wilson and Ali Lambert, both 21, were the top male and female finishers in the annual race that drew more than 500 runners for the 5K and a 1K kids’ race on the holiday morning under clear skies and pleasant tempatures. The race was sponsored by the Greencastle Flyers, booster group for G-A cross country and track.

Wilson was the overall winner in 16:06, 43 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Lambert was 10th overall with a time of 19:09. Each was awarded a trophy and a turkey.
