It’s been a great year of weather — if you’re one of these ducks in the pond at Tayamentasachta. These creatures are some of the few who have not complained about the excess of moisture in 2011. Yes, it’s been plenty wet according to local weather observer Robert Wertime, who has already had to measure snowfall. Not counting this week’s rain, the Greencastle-Antrim area had received 3.55 inches of precipitation in November, which boosted the 2011 to date total to 48.91 inches. Through the end of November the area averages 36.3 inches, therefore this year’s production is 12.61 inches over the norm. “We are well ahead of the game,” added Wertime. “This has been an interesting and different year to chart.”
