Virginia woman dead after accident near Upton

A Winchester, Va. woman was pronounced dead at the Chambersburg Hospital emergency room Friday afternoon following a one-vehicle accident near Upton, according to a Franklin County Coroner press release.

Pennsylvania State Police said Catherine Foy, 51, was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a house at the intersection of Buchanan Trial West and Welsh Run Road at 4:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. Police offered few details of the accident, but listed the driver as David Eugene Foy, 48, also of Winchester. The corner’s release said the Catherine Foy was the right front seat restrained passenger in a Subaru Outback the left the road and struck a house.

Police listed the location of the accident at Montgomery Township. The corner’s report said Peters Township.

Police said their investigation is ongoing.

An autopsy on Catherine Foy has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21 in Allentown to determine the cause and manner of death, the corner’s report stated.
