ADA ramps are done in Greencastle

Greencastle borough council paid a big bill Monday night. The final payment of $42,078 for the Madison Street ADA project was approved. D&D Construction installed handicap ramps at 37 intersections since awarded the contract June 6. The initial price was $82,242 and ended up at $88,099.

The work was inspected and certified by Frederick, Seibert and Associates. The borough will be reimbursed for some of its expenses by a Community Block Development Grant approved in 2010.

The ramps are on Jefferson, Carlisle, Washington, and Allison streets; Cedar, Elm and Church lanes; Ridge, Linden and Spring Grove avenues; and several alleys.

Council also approved the collective bargaining agreement with the Greencastle Patrolmen’s Association. Details will be released once the association has signed it.
