Shane Moats arrested for Greencastle Pizza Hut armed robbery
A Chambersburg man has been arrested for allegedly robbing the Greencastle Pizza Hut last month while displaying a gun.
Greencastle Police reported that Shane A. Moats, 27, surrendered at the police station on June 23 and was arrested for the May 29 armed robbery at Pizza Hut, 152 S. Antrim Way.
Moats was additionally charged with theft of donation jars from Mikie’s Ice Cream, 179 S. Antrim Way, on May 28.
Moats was arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Duane Cunningham and committed to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of bail. He waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday, June 28.
At the time of the Pizza Hut armed robbery, police reported that a man robbed the cashier at the restaurant after displaying a handgun around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29. He left on foot and was tracked by the K-9 unit. Police said the search did not yield the suspect. They reported that physical evidence was recovered at the scene of the armed robbery.
