Greencastle man sentenced in child sexual abuse case
Daniel Zeis, 46, Greencastle, was found guilty April 12 of two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and one count of indecent assault of a child. The incidents occurred between 1996 and 1997.
Franklin County President Judge Douglas Herman will issue the sentence on July 6, and ordered Zeis to undergo increased supervision and electronic monitoring until that date. He had been free on $10,000 bail since March 23.
Zeis was accused of raping and molesting a young boy in the 1990s. During the trial, two men testified against him and the district attorney’s office revealed evidence that two others may have been abused as children.
The sentencing guidelines will follow those in place in 1997.
