Just a few weeks before the campaign is set to close, United Way of Franklin County has just over $15,000 to raise. Campaign work began in September to raise funds toward a goal of $720,000.

Several events are planned to help the effort, including Tubing Tuesday March 8 at Whitetail Adventure Tubing through Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg from 4 until 10 p.m. Participants receive discounted rates for tubing and 20 percent of the proceeds will benefit United Way. Participants are required to present a voucher. Vouchers are available on the United Way website at www.uwfcpa.org or at the United Way of Franklin County office.

The Orchards Restaurant will be donating 10 percent of all food proceeds from March 20 to 26 to help the campaign.

“We’re excited about these new partnerships to help the campaign effort, and are thrilled with the support from The Orchards and Whitetail Resort. The beauty of the events is that there is something for everyone, whether you’d rather be outside playing in the snow, or inside for a relaxing dinner,” said Amy Hicks, executive director of United Way.

As United Way of Franklin County works to close in on its goal, donations are greatly appreciated and can be pledged by calling the United Way office at 717-262-0015.

The United Way of Franklin County Annual Campaign is working to benefit programs at 27 local partner agencies of United Way, as well as to support the services provided through United Way. To get involved, visit www.uwfcpa.org or call the United Way office.
