Man escapes after police chase into Antrim Township
A suspect apparently escaped Tuesday afternoon, despite a chase by Chambersburg police from I-81 into Antrim Township.
Police are seeking Wilson Pachot Jr., 35, a black male who is 5 feet 10 inches and weighs 290 pounds. He could be in the Hagerstown, Md., Chambersburg or New York City area.
On March 1 Chambersburg police attempted to stop Pachot in the area of Lincoln Way East and Eighth Street since he was wanted by several agencies. Pachot was driving a silver Dodge Charger and fled south on I-81. He exited in Greencastle and lost the officers. The pursuit stopped but witnesses directed police to the area of Ridge Road and Leitersburg Road, where they had seen a vehicle being driven erratically.
The vehicle was found near the intersection of Marsh Road and Leitersburg Road close to the Pennsylvania/Maryland line. The search was joined by Greencastle police, Pennsylvania State Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police and other responding agencies. An individual was detained by the sheriff’s office, but determined not to be Pachot.
Pachot is wanted by PSP for tampering with public records or identification in a 2009 case. He is wanted by the U.S. Marshals in regards to a federal indictment by the Drug Enforcement Administration in Maryland for distribution of drugs. He is sought by Hagerstown police for two counts of first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving and other traffic violations.
As a result of Tuesday’s chase, Pachot will also be charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; recklessly endangering another person, flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment; and other traffic violations.
Anyone with information on Pachot should contact Chambersburg police at 717-264-4131, or any of the other agencies listed.
