Walk-in care center now open in Greencastle

People in the southern part of Franklin County needing rapid treatment for minor illnesses and injuries don't have to wait to make an appointment with their family doctor.
The reason: A walk-in care service in Greencastle is now seeing patients.
Antrim Family & Walk-in Care is located at The John L. Grove Medical Center on Eastern Avenue in Greencastle. This service is an extension of Summit Health's family medicine practice at the same location.
No appointment is necessary for walk-in care services. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on weekends, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Urgent care centers like Antrim Family & Walk-in Care typically treat minor illnesses and injuries like cuts, sprains, bee stings, ear infections, minor skin rashes, fevers and sore throats.
Patients should go to the closest hospital emergency department if they have severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, chest pain, uncontrollable bleeding, severe pain or fainting.
This is the second walk-in service offered by Summit Health. The other walk-in care center, Shippensburg Family Practice & Walk-in Care, is located on Walnut Bottom Road in Shippensburg.
Summit Health's decision to open a walk-in care center in Greencastle was the result of a 2008 community health needs assessment. The assessment identified a need for urgent care services in the Greencastle area.
