County begins process of updating Comprehensive Plan
Franklin County is beginning an update the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission held a meeting to kickoff the project Wednesday.
The current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1999. This update is intended to provide guidance and assistance for local municipalities and offer recommendations for needed improvements in infrastructure, housing, and community facilities throughout the county. The plan will address land use, natural resources, housing, community facilities and services, economic development, historic resources and preservation, and transportation. It will also include an implementation plan to achieve the identified goals and objectives. The process to complete the plan will include an extensive public outreach component.
In addition to the kickoff meeting, subsequent public sessions will be announced.
Anyone needing special accommodations to attend the meetings should contact the county planning office at 717-261-3855.
