Turkey trot set November 25

The Greencastle-Antrim Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and 1K Kids’ Race, hosted by the Greencastle-Antrim High School cross country team, will be held Thursday, Nov. 25 beginning at the high school campus and following nearby town streets. The kids’ race is set for 8:30 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 9 a.m.

The event will also include a new activity this year, a canned food and sneaker collection for charity.

Turkeys and trophies will be given to the overall male and female champions. Awards and turkeys will be given to the top three finishers in each age group.

The cost is $20 before Nov. 12 and $25 after.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Participants are encouraged to bring nonperishable canned food items to be donated to the South Central Community Action Program  and old running shoes to be donated to Soles4Souls.
