G-A Apple Festival scheduled Oct. 9

Greencastle’s Apple Festival and Antique Engine Display, held the second Saturday of each October, draws people from a wide area. Friends enjoying apple dumplings and cider were Dustin Slonaker, Falling Waters, W. Va.; Ginger Snyder, Hagerstown, Md.; and Cindy Yeakle, Greencastle.

The Greencastle-Antrim Apple Festival and C.V. Engine and Machinery Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Tayamentasachta Environmental Center, 500 E. Leitersburg St.

Admission is free.

There will be a chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Barbecue by Ralph. The meal includes a half a chicken, cabbage slaw, baked potato, applesauce, roll, cake and drink. The cost is $6 in advance or $7 at the door. Tickets are available at all Greencastle-Antrim schools.
