A Volunteer Screening Fair will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 in the Greencastle-Antrim Elementary School gym. No appointment time is necessary and the process will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The school board passed a school volunteers policy to protect students in school during activities. The board has also updated its parent lunch policy. Only adults with an approved Greencastle-Antrim School District volunteer status will be permitted into cafeterias. The policy requires volunteers to complete a criminal background check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse background check and a tuberculosis examination.

The one-day activity is designed to aid volunteers in completing paperwork and receive a tuberculosis test. G-ASD has arranged to cover the cost of the tuberculosis test, which will be given by Summit Health. A nurse will be on duty to read the tuberculosis test from 8:15 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 in the elementary school office.

Once volunteers have gone through the screening process, those who volunteer once a year do not have to go through the process again.

Clearance paperwork is available in all school building offices.

Those interested are asked to call 597-3226, ext. 30517.
