The Antrim Township Supervisors have extended the burning ban.

The ban will continue indefinitely and will be lifted when the dry weather conditions have improved, according to a township news release.

Open fires are prohibited in Antrim Township by authority of the township code. The public will be notified when the ban has been lifted.

Township officials said the present fire hazard rating is very high. Open burning at this time potentially creates a hazard to the health, safety and property of the citizens of Antrim Township.

Residents are asked to refrain from any open burning. This includes any fire not in a furnace or incinerator.
