In light of the extreme dry weather conditions in Antrim Township, open fires have been prohibited through Wednesday, July 28. The burn ban will be reviewed by the Antrim Township Board of Supervisors Tuesday, July 27, and could be extended indefinitely if conditions have not improved.

According to a news release from the township, the present fire hazard rating is very high. Open burning at this time potentially creates a hazard to the health, safety and property of the citizens of Antrim Township, the release said.

Residents are asked to refrain from any open burning, which includes any fire not in a furnace or incinerator.
