The Borough of Greencastle received $130,000 in grant monies administered by the Franklin County Commissioners. On May 4 they reviewed $2 million worth of grant requests and selected recipients for the $465,000 allocated by the Community Development Block Grant.

Greencastle will use $100,00 for curb cuts on Madison Street and the remaining is directed to a sewer project.

The federal grant is channeled through the Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development and is intended to benefit at least 100 families per public works project.
