Friends make library donation

The Friends of the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library have presented a check in the amount of $3,500 to the Library for the planned expansion of the patrons’ parking lot off of South Ridge Avenue. The lot will be increased by eight to 10 parking spaces. The library support group has been able to pay for this project through the generous donations of its members and support from other organizations such as the Greencastle-Antrim Women’s Club, Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club and the Greencastle Lions Club. “We are very glad to be able to make this contribution toward some of the very necessary improvements to this important part of our community so that money from other sources can be used for the library’s much needed upgrade to the electrical system and the replacement of light fixtures,” said Sharon Baumbaugh, president of Friends, who presented the check to Laura Greenlee, head librarian.
