House damaged by fire

Residents of 215 Oak Lane have begun the cleanup process after a Sunday morning garage fire. No one was injured in the 4:59 a.m. blaze, which was confined to the garage and attic of the house. Rescue Hose Co. responded, with assistance from Marion, Waynesboro, Mercersburg, Franklin County Air Unit, Long Meadow and Maugansville. Fire fighters had the fire under control in 20 minutes. The home occupants were provided alternate housing by the American Red Cross due to smoke damage.
