Borough seeks comments on proposed strategic plan, seeks volunteers for committees

The Borough of Greencastle has approved a draft Five-Year Strategic Plan and is asking the public to comment on the plan.  In addition, the borough council is seeking citizen volunteers to serve on committees established as part of the strategic planning process.

At its regularly scheduled meeting Monday, Aug. 3 borough council approved the final draft of the Five-Year Strategic Plan and directed that it be put on display for public comment for 30 days.  The plan is on the borough's web site at and a copy is available at borough hall.  Members of the public who desire to comment on the plan may do so via e-mail by using the “contact us” feature on the borough's web site, or by letter or other written communication mailed or delivered to the borough office at 60 N. Washington St. The council is expected to formally adopt a Five-Year Strategic Plan at its regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Citizens will review the draft plan will note that objectives are prioritized and responsibility assigned to a specific committee or group. Council anticipates that interested citizens will be invited to serve on the committees following approval of the final plan. Citizens who are interested in serving on a committee are asked once again to use the contact us feature on the web site or to call (717.597.7143) or write to the borough expressing their interest. Borough council will make the final determination on committee membership.

Council would like to thank all of the citizens who participated in the Town Meeting and who provided additional input through e-mails and letters.  Borough council looks forward to comments on the draft plan from borough citizens and their continued participation in the strategic planning process.
