Greencastle-Antrim Middle School: Counting on math

The Greencastle-Antrim Middle School Mathcounts team competed in its first ever competition on Feb. 13 and brought home the award for “Best New School”.

The team of Ryan Bland, Jarrett Brady, Sam Eberhardt, Enya Faulk, Renee Hawbaker, Akhila Kunuthuru, Katrina Long, Bob McCune, Daniel Nagle, Joey Paci and Darsh Venkatesh attended the Mathcounts Regional Competition at Penn State Harrisburg. Bland, Hawbaker, Kunuthuru and Venkatesh placed fourth in the team competition and Kunuthuru placed fourth in the individual competition.

The Mathcounts team advisors are eighth-grade math teachers Jessica Durofchalk and Andrew Geesaman.
