Greencastle police officer Keith Russell was surrounded by his family, police chief John Phillippy, and borough council president Charles Eckstine as he  was honored at the council meeting July 6 for his resuce of two people at a house fire May 23.

He was assisted by officer Kevin Creager, who was also recognized but unable to attend the meeting.

Phillippy said, “We get beat up a lot as cops, by the public and the press. I thought they deserved the recognition.”
