Park grants awarded in Antrim Township

The Antrim Township board of supervisors approved the distribution of $47,000 in park grant funds at its April 28 meeting. It continued its policy of giving $5,000 to each of the three area Ruritan clubs - in Kauffman, Shady Grove and State Line.

The competitive $32,000 in grants were awarded to the following recipients, which serve the residents of Antrim Township. The Park Committee made the recommendations.

Kauffman Ruritan, $3,956.60 for basketball court work; Shady Grove Improvement Association, $2,009.44 for basketball court, trees and surfacing; State Line Ruritan, $1,500 for playground equipment or trees; Jerome R. King Playground Association, $4,762 for ADA equipment; State Line Youth League, $4,179 for fencing; Greencastle-Antrim Ladies Softball at Shady Grove, $3,650 for dirt, catchers’ gear and netting; Greencastle AYSO, $4,550 for goals with nets; G-A Midget Football Association, $775 for toilets; Greencastle Junior Wrestling, $1,170 for supplies; Greencastle United Soccer, $2,807.96 for portable goals; and Williamsport Angels, $3,000 for ballfield needs.

Requests totaled $89,904.
