Hurleys Auctions will be auctioning a rare, original Mark Twain Noe oil painting from an estate sale for Betty and Cleo Shank through the first week in July.

An original oil on canvas painting by nationally renowned artist Mark Twain Noe will be sold at auction by Hurley Auctions of Greencastle.

“This is the first original Mark Twain Noe painting I have auctioned in  20 years of work in the local area,” said Hurley Auctions president, Matthew Hurley.

Following Noe's passing in 2012, Hurley has “…seen a great increase in the price of Noe's work by collectors and enthusiasts.” Original artwork is highly sought after by both the local community and nationwide. This piece was commissioned by Betty and Cleo Shank of Greencastle, and is currently for sale online as a portion of their estate.

Noe, a long-time resident of Fulton County, rose to national acclaim due to his accurate and detailed representations of wildlife. Receiving many awards and recognition throughout his career, Noe's accolades include having a painting on display at the Smithsonian Institute and artist of the year by National Wildlife Turkey Federation.

The sale will take place online, with bids closing at 7 p.m. July 8 on www.HurleyAuctions.com
