There will be two public opportunities for Greencastle-Antrim citizens to hear from and question candidates for the Greencastle-Antrim School Board.

There will be four open seats on the school board to be filled during the Tuesday, Nov. 12 election. Candidates on the ballot are Linda Farley, Lura Hanks, Brian Hissong, Ed Jackson, Todd Kirkwood, Ron Powers and Jim Winslow.

The Greencastle-Antrim Democratic Club is hosting a candidates forum from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 in the multi-purpose room of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St.

Candidates will take questions from the public.

The Greencastle Antrim Democratic Club has a long history of providing similar forums and welcomes voters of all political party affiliations, citizens who may not be registered to vote, and other interested citizens.

Meet and greet

Four of the candidates, Jackson, Powers, Winslow and Kirkwood, have arranged for a meet and greet session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the multi-purpose room of the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library.

The four have extended invitations for the other four candidates to attend. The event is intended as an informal meet and greet for local residents to get to know the candidates.

Light refreshments will be served.
