The Greecastle High School Class of 1944 made a $650 donation to the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library for its building project. Pictured, from left, are classmates Bob Reymer, Fran Elliott and Betty Walsnovich, with Patti Divelbiss, capital campaign chairman. They are in the Memorial Garden near the main entrance of the library. The garden was donated by the Wine family and friends in memory of Josie Wine Spitz, and John and Tillie Wine. The class held its 69th reunion Aug. 5 at Nick’s Airport Inn. Thirty-six people attended, including spouses, children and other relatives, and friends. Mary Louise Gingrich and Betty Barnhart Walsnovich have attended every reunion since graduation. The class had maintained a small savings account and decided to close it. The library was selected as the recipient of the funds, to be used for its capital campaign.
