Turkey trot set Nov. 24 in Greencastle
The eighth annual Greencastle-Antrim Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and 1K Kids’ Race, hosted by the Greencastle-Antrim High School cross country teams, will be held Thursday, Nov. 24 beginning at the high school campus and following nearby town streets. The free kids’ race for children 9 and under is set for 8:30 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 9 a.m.
The event will again a canned food and sneaker collection for charities.
Turkeys and trophies will be given to the overall male and female champions. Awards and turkeys will be given to the top three finishers in each age group.
The cost is $25.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Participants are encouraged to bring nonperishable canned food items to be donated to the South Central Community Action Program and old running shoes to be donated to Soles4Souls.
