YMCA program expands in Greencastle
Registration for the Waynesboro Area YMCA Before and After School CARE program for the 2011-2012 school year is open for members and will be open to non-members Monday, May 23.
The licensed program not only provides children with a safe place to go after school, but also gives them the opportunity to participate in games, tutoring and crafts.
Our before and after school care programs are offered at the YMCA, Fairview and Summitview and at two new locations, Hooverville and Mowrey schools. Transportation to Summitview Elementary and St. Andrew is provided if attending the YMCA location.
The program begins on the first day of school and ends the last day of school. Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to the start of school and after school until 6 p.m.
The School's Out Club which operates when the Waynesboro Area School District is closed, provides all day activities from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and children from any school may attend. Children do not need to be enrolled in before and after school care programs to participate, but do need to have a YMCA membership or Program Pass. The next School's Out Club will be offered June 9 and10. If you need care for school-age child(ren) during the summer the YMCA also offers a Day Camp program in Waynesboro and Greencastle.
The Y also offers before and after school CARE and School's Out Club in Greencastle at the First Assembly of God, East Leitersburg Street, and follows the Greencastle-Antrim School District calendar. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Transportation is also provided to and from the elementary and primary schools.
