Help still needed for Christmas dinner

Planning for the Salvation Army Christmas dinner in Chambersburg is continuing.

Organizers are working to make sure anyone who is alone on Christmas Day will have a warm meal and a present.

Volunteers are busy gathering items for the meal, which will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Christmas Day in the Salvation Army lunch room on Lincoln Way West.

Anyone who wishes a meal, or who would like to donate food or presents or who would like to volunteer can still call Lynne Newman at 717- 263-2151 or 717-360-2407.  Names for delivery, food or presents will be accepted until Dec. 24.

Although most of the presents are given to clients of Meals on Wheels and senior center clients, there are children who come to the Salvation army building for a meal, so gifts for children are an appropriate donation.
