Used book sale to benefit charities

Paul Freeman, Merna Slabik, Shirley Freeman, Minerva Trimmer and Evelyn Pensinger stand among 8-9,000 used books for sale at Trinity Lutheran Church this weekend. The materials were collected from points in Greencastle, Waynesboro and Chambersburg and proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County, food banks and other local charities. The sale at 1186 Jason Drive will be conducted Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to noon. Saturday is ‘bag day’ with each bag $6 or buy three bags, get one free.
