Used books wanted for annual sale

Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and Trinity Lutheran Church, Greencastle, are sponsoring the fifth annual Used Book Sale Nov. 4 to 6 at the church, 1186 Jason Drive, Greencastle. Approximately 8,000 books are expected to be available.

All proceeds will be given to Habitat for Humanity and other local charities.

Used books, hardbacks or paperbacks, can be donated through Oct. 23 at any of the following locations:

In Greencastle: Trinity Lutheran Church - 1186 Jason Drive, Greencastle. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon; Sunnyway Foods.

In Chambersburg: Habitat for Humanity office, 23 N. Third St., Chambersburg. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon; Sunnyway Foods, Warm Spring Road; Wolf’s Furniture, 480 Gateway Ave. (customer service desk).

In Waynesboro: Office of Charles Strausbaugh, 45 Walnut St., Food Lion, Rouzerville.

The following types of books can not be accepted: Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, encyclopedias, text books, any books which are musty or smell smokey.

The sale will be at the church as follows: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5; 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 6. Saturday will be “bag day” when purchasers of three bags of books will receive an additional free bag of books.
