HARRISBURG — Rep. Todd Rock has announced that Gov. Tom Corbett has accepted an invitation to attend the Mont Alto Centennial Parade on Saturday, July 13.  Rock, along with the Mont Alto Centennial Committee, invited the governor to be part of the festivities honoring the anniversary of the borough’s incorporation.

“It’s exciting for our community that Governor Corbett is taking time from his busy schedule to come to Mont Alto and help us celebrate the borough’s centennial,” said Rock.  “The Mont Alto Centennial Committee is working tirelessly to showcase the history of our hometown, and it is an honor that a figure as important as the governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will be on hand for this event.”

Though final details of the governor’s visit will be confirmed by his office at a later date, it is expected that Corbett will serve as the parade’s grand marshal and participate in the Mont Alto incorporation birthday celebration immediately after the parade.

“The governor’s participation is very meaningful for the residents of the 90th District,” said Rock. “It demonstrates how committed he is to local communities.  Small towns like Mont Alto are the backbone of Pennsylvania, and Governor Corbett’s visit underscores that he understands how important they are.”
