70s reunion will kick off Old Home Week for G-AHS grads

Because the first one was so successful, Greencastle-Antrim High School graduates from the 1970s are going to have another blended reunion during Old Home Week 2013. They added such a reunion to the list of OHW activities in 2010, and had a turnout of 544 people, both classmates and spouses.
"Everyone had such a great time," said Ron Oliver, "hoping we'd do it again."
Over 20 people from the classes of 1970 through 1979 have been meeting to organize the Aug. 3 event. Once again, they will convene at the American Legion grounds. The party will last from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The group is using social media to reach out to classmates near and far, with a Facebook page at GAHS All 70's Class Reunion. A special webpage has also been set up at sites.google.com/site/gahsall70sreunion
In addition, people may contact any committee member. A few of them are: Robin Pensinger Rock, rprock1954@yahoo.com; Cheryl Kiser, gigi57@comcast.net or 717-597-2405; or Tammy Hendershott Heefner, fheefner@comcast.net or 717-597-8022.
The planners said everyone enjoyed getting together with friends from their own grade, as well as those older and younger than them, the last time around. They also found it amusing to attend a school reunion with their siblings. The committee hopes for an even larger crowd this time. They promise music from the 70s through more recent decades, and plenty of food and fun during the summer afternoon.
