Capitol Theatre still looking for support
CHAMBERSBURG — As of Dec. 28, $48,579 is left to be raised in Capitol Theatre Center’s annual Be A Star! giving campaign. With a goal of $125,000 by Dec. 31, the staff and Board of Trustees for the cultural arts icon remain very grateful for the amount of donations that have already been received and are hopeful that there are still individuals and businesses intending to make their tax-deductible donations by year’s end.
In support of the arts and this 85-year-old cultural and historic community treasure there are 500 people or businesses who will make a $100 donation? or 48 people or businesses who will make a $1,000 tax-deductible donation? or 1,000 people or businesses who will make a $48 donation? Each and every donation in any amount is always appreciated and helpful.
Donations have been received that range from $100 to $10,000.
The official Be A Star! annual giving campaign ends Dec. 31, but as a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization, donations to Capitol Theatre Center will be accepted into the new year.
If the 5th annual Be A Star! giving campaign total of $125,000 is not reached, Capitol Theatre Center will not close; however, there will be significant changes to the current state of affairs until funding improves. The changes that take place at Capitol Theatre Center will ultimately depend on how significant the financial gap is between what is raised and the goal of $125,000.
Any individual or business wishing to make their tax-deductible donation may do so by making checks payable to Capitol Theatre Center Foundation and mailing to attention: Be A Star! Campaign/Capitol Theatre Center, 159 S. Main St. Chambersburg, PA 17201. Donations can also be made online at www.thecapitoltheatre.org
