High school music students to present concert Sunday Dec. 9
The annual holiday Christmas concert at the Greencastle-Antrim High School will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 in the high school auditorium.
The G-Castle Jazz Voices will begin the program, under the direction of Ronalyn Bingaman, with selections as follows: "O Christmas Tree", "O Holy Night" with accompanist Harrison Scott, and “Swing into Christmas”.
Sam Forney will direct the Concert Band in "Christmas Winds", "A Winter's Carol", "River of Life" conducted by Carley Hafer (assistant drum major) and "An American Christmas".
The Chamber Singers will entertain with "Sing We Now of Christmas", “Lux Aurumque", "Christmas Angels" and "Good King Kong Looked Out".
The Concert Choir will highlight pianists Blair Boscolo with "The Chanukah Song (We Are Lights)" and Andrea Crawford with "All I Want for Christmas", while welcoming Valerie Ehko for "Tundra". Soloists for the choir will be Madeline Heraty on "Tundra" and Lauren Durniak on "All I Want for Christmas". Mark Peters will play the trap set for this number.
The finale piece will be the “Hallelujah Chorus”, as performed by combined ensembles as well as Greencastle-Antrim High School alumni wishing to join the groups.
