G-A field band set for championships

Ashlyn Hostetter performs with the Greencastle-Antrim High School Field Band which will compete in the Cavalcade of Bands Championship at Hersheypark Stadium Saturday. The Greencastle-Antrim High School Field Band is headed for championships.

The band warmed up for the end-of-season showdown with two recent competitions.

On Saturday, Nov. 3 G-A was second in the American Conference (Group 2) with 88.20, just a bit over a point from winner Warwick (89.55) at the Red Lion Competition. Francis Scott Key was third with 83.45 points. A week earlier the local group was fourth in the six-band American Conference at the Manheim Central Competition. Lampeter-Strasburg (85.65), Warwick (84.05) and Penn Manor (83.30) were ahead of G-A. Ephrata was fifth (79.10) and Winslow Township was sixth (77.95).

G-A will travel to Hersheypark Stadium Saturday, Nov. 10 for the Cavalcade of Bands Championship.
